The Television Industry Advocacy Awards names additional honorees

The Creative CoalitionTV Guide Magazine, and TVInsider.com has announce four additional honorees for the inaugural Television Industry Advocacy Awards, set to take place in Los Angeles on September 18th. Added to the impressive list of recipients are: Emmy Award-nominee Laverne Cox (Netflix’s Orange Is the New Black) for her work with LGBTQ awareness; actor Tim Robbins (HBO’s The Brink) for The Actors’ Gang Prison Project; actress Eva Longoria (NBC’s Hot and Bothered, Lifetime’s Devious Maids) for founding the Eva Longoria Foundation; and 2015 Emmy Award-nominee Anthony Anderson (ABC’sBlack-ish) for his efforts on behalf of diabetes awareness. Previously announced honorees include: actressConstance Zimmer (Lifetime’s UnREAL) for supporting the efficacy of the arts and promoting environmental awareness; 2015 Emmy Award-nominee Alan Cumming (CBS’s The Good Wife) for shining a spotlight on LGBTQ issues; actress Beth Behrs (CBS’s 2 Broke Girls) for her involvement with The Rape Foundation; 2015 Emmy Award-nominee Jeffrey Tambor (Amazon’s Transparent) for his work with youth empowerment; Emmy Award-winner Alfre Woodard (12 Years a Slave, NBC’s State of Affairs) for her leadership in the President’s Committee on the Arts and the Humanities’ Turnaround Arts Program; and executive producer Neal Baer (CBS’sUnder the Dome) for his leadership with The Global Media Center for Social Impact.  

The Television Industry Advocacy Awards salutes those leaders in the television industry who use their power of celebrity to advocate for charitable and social causes. The Awards will be held on Friday evening, September 18th at Sunset Tower Hotel, West Hollywood, CA at 5:30 pm This invitation-only event will honor television’s most significant actors, showrunners, and executives for commitment to their respective causes.
