Actor Nirav Mehta living in the dream

myNewYorkeye: Who Are You?

Nirav Mehta: Actor. Global Citizen. Child of this Universe. Wanderer & Philanthropist.

(Best known for Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na)

myNewYorkeye: What makes you click?

Nirav Mehta: My constant need to explore perhaps because theres no sense of formulaic way. I don’t find the urge to set up a blueprint that will help me click. Just be yourself and the rest will fall in place. I know my positives and my negatives and I am currently at a juncture where I just want to keep upgrading myself constantly until the battery runs out.

myNewYorkeye: Explain your Master Plan for your career?

Nirav Mehta: Haha you know. . . I am not a "master plan" kind of a guy. I have a set of skills and i want to apply them whilst in the company of other highly skilled film folks.

Having been blessed with talent is one thing but seeking others who could provide a phenomenal canvas for your talent is your way of thanking the Universe. So i would say i want to keep collaborating with the best. I exist as an artist, I am spontaneous and love listening to my gut more than my brain. In retrospect, the jigsaw puzzle will solve itself. . .

myNewYorkeye: What do You love about NYC?

Nirav Mehta: Everything! Just about everything and then some more. Every block is a story, sonnet, haiku of its own. Every time I visit NYC, it safely stores some part of me. The pace of this magical land has a rhythm that serves every mood. I am a romantic at heart and NYC has my heart, any day. (Also I would have known nothing about NYC prior to my first visit if it weren't for Woody Allen)

myNewYorkeye: Top Three Spots to have the Perfect NYC date?

Nirav Mehta: Wow, now thats a tough one. A picnic with wine & cheese at Dumbo with some bicycles thrown in. I attended a concert in Central Park this spring/fall with Tiesto, Carrie Underwood, Gwen Stefani (No Doubt) Sting, Jay Z and Beyonce and that was a memorable date. Dinner at Buddhakan or Spice Market with a night out at Meat Packing District.

myNewYorkeye: What's in Your Netflix cue?

Nirav Mehta: My name is Earl, Louie, Blue is the Warmest Colour, City of God.
